Pilgrims enter Ihram, make their Hajj intention, and travel to Mina (5km from Makkah). They spend the night in Mina in tents, praying Dhuhr, Asr, Maghrib, Isha, and Fajr (shortened but not combined). This day is called Tarwiyah — the Day of Quenching Thirst.
The most important day of Hajj. After Fajr, pilgrims travel to the Plain of Arafah (25km from Makkah). They must be present at Arafah between noon and sunset. Pilgrims spend hours in dua, dhikr, and supplication. After sunset, they move to Muzdalifah to spend the night under the open sky.
Pilgrims collect 7 pebbles in Muzdalifah, then: (1) Stone the Jamarat al-Aqabah (big pillar), (2) Sacrifice an animal (Qurbani), (3) Shave or cut hair (partial exit from Ihram), (4) Perform Tawaf al-Ifadah (circuits of Kaaba), (5) Perform Sa'i if not done after arrival Tawaf.
Pilgrims spend the Tashreeq days in Mina, stoning all three Jamarat pillars (Sughra, Wusta, Kubra) — 7 pebbles each — after Dhuhr on each day. Pilgrims may leave after Day 4 (Nafr al-Awwal) or stay until Day 5 (Nafr ath-Thani — better). Final act: Tawaf al-Wada (Farewell Tawaf).
Since 2023, Saudi Arabia requires all international pilgrims to register through the Nusuk platform (nusuk.sa). Here is the process NexSafar guides every pilgrim through:
Canada and the US have fixed Hajj quotas allocated by Saudi Arabia. Once these quotas are filled, no additional pilgrims can register for that year. Applications for Hajj 2026 should ideally be submitted by December 2025 to February 2026. Contact NexSafar as soon as possible to secure your spot.

Hajj 2026 is expected around June 5–10, 2026 (8–13 Dhul-Hijjah 1447 AH). The exact dates will be confirmed by Saudi authorities after the moon sighting of Dhul-Hijjah 1447. NexSafar will notify all registered pilgrims of confirmed dates.
Hajj Tamattu (most common for non-residents) — perform Umrah first, exit Ihram, then re-enter Ihram for Hajj. Requires a sacrifice (Hady). Hajj Ifrad — perform Hajj only, without Umrah. Hajj Qiran — perform Umrah and Hajj in one continuous Ihram without exiting. Most North American pilgrims perform Hajj Tamattu.
Yes. If a Muslim dies before being able to perform Hajj, a family member or other Muslim can perform Hajj on their behalf (Hajj al-Badal). The person performing the proxy Hajj must have already completed their own obligatory Hajj. NexSafar can accommodate proxy Hajj arrangements.
The Hajj rites themselves span 5 days (8–12 Dhul-Hijjah). However, most complete Hajj packages are 21–28 days, including pre-Hajj days in Makkah (for Umrah and preparation) and post-Hajj days in Medina (for Ziyarah of the Prophet's Mosque).
