What is Hajj?
Hajj is the Islamic pilgrimage to Makkah (Mecca), Saudi Arabia, and the fifth pillar of Islam. It is obligatory once in a lifetime for every Muslim adult who has the physical and financial means. Hajj takes place annually during the Islamic month of Dhul-Hijjah (12th month), specifically on days 8–13.
Allah says in the Quran: "And proclaim to the people the Hajj [pilgrimage]; they will come to you on foot and on every lean camel; they will come from every distant pass." (Surah Al-Hajj, 22:27)

Ihram

Arafat
The Standing at Arafat on 9 Dhul-Hijjah — the pinnacle and most essential rite of Hajj.
Muzdalifah
Spending the night at Muzdalifah after Arafat, collecting pebbles for the stoning.
Jamarat
Stoning the three pillars (Jamarat) in Mina on 10–13 Dhul-Hijjah, symbolizing rejection of evil.
Tawaf al-Ifada
The obligatory pillar Tawaf performed after the Eid sacrifice and before exiting Ihram.

The Saudi Arabian government manages all Hajj applications through the Nusuk platform (nusuk.sa). This is the official digital gateway for all international Hajj pilgrims, including those from Canada and the United States.

Hajj 2026 is expected to fall around June 5–10, 2026 (1–5 Dhul-Hijjah 1447 AH). Exact dates are confirmed by Saudi Arabia's moon-sighting committee closer to the time.
